Description

With your masonry contractors license, you will be able to install concrete units and baked clay products; concrete, glass and clay block; natural and manufactured stone; terra cotta; and fire brick or other material for refractory work.

The masonry classification includes the fabrication and installation of masonry component units for structural load bearing and non-load bearing walls for structures and fences installed with or without mortar; ceramic veneer (not tile) and thin brick that resembles full brick for facing; paving; and clear waterproofing, cleaning and caulking incidental to masonry construction.

How to obtain a

masonry

contractors license?

Before you can apply for your masonry contractors license, you must meet the following experience requirements:

  • 4 years of experience performing/supervising masonry (C-29) work.
  • Social Security number or ITIN
  • Be at least 18 years old*

Don’t have 4 years of masonry experience?
A college degree can be substituted for up to three years of that experience.

The State will accept self-employed experience.

In order to obtain your masonry contractors license, you are required to pass the Trade examination as well as the Law & Business exam.

*Even though you can apply for a masonry contractors license when you are 18 years old, it is recommended that you be at least 23 years old due to experience requirement.
